Volunteer of the Month!
Not only has he served on the Board of Directors and Architectural
committee, but he really stirred up a scare this year when
he drove for the Halloween Hayride. No matter
what the need, Norm Meaders is
there to lend a helping hand to residents of all ages. Thanks
Norm for the use of your vehicle
and your agility to swiftly navigate our streets so that
our Trick-or-treaters could fill their bags a plenty, making
it loads of fun for both kids and adults!

We received a letter from Little River Water and Sewerage Company
Inc. requesting the land under their lift station to be deeded into
its name. It found that this had not been done in the beginning
of the Windjammer Village Property Owners' Association. It is required
by South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control
(SCDHEC) that in order for the company to operate and maintain the
lift stations that the parcel of land designated for its use must
be owned, and therefore deeded, in company's name.
Bud Fongeallaz has spoken with Fred Kisner, executive Manager, for
Little River Water and Sewerage to do all the surveying, writing
of deeds and any other details without any cost to us. Bud Fongeallaz
will be in contact with them during this time.
All this should be done in time to have a ballot for mailing with
other ballots for the Annual POA meeting in June.
This land transfer needs POA approval according to our By-laws.
This will not impact Windjammer Village in any way. It may be of
benefit by reducing our property tax and storm water tax. Bud will
report progress as the process goes on.
No meetings in December – Happy Holidays everyone.

Publicity
A big thank you to John Pazoga who has volunteered
to be the Circle Captain for Jackson Circle. Please consider signing
up for email. The email has a link to a web page that has the same
information on it, and this month will have a link to a pdf file
so you can print out the exact copy that is hand-delivered. The
Circle Captains are still walking around nearly 225 copies each
month. We had one new sign-up this month!
Recreation
Recreation had a successful Trick-or-treat hayride this year. Enough
children to fill two wagons showed up. This year, to cover the entire
neighborhood, we started each group at each end of the neighborhood
until we met on Franklin Circle. Thank you to the homeowners for
following the lights on/off request that was very helpful to our
trick-or-treaters. Our October meeting had 3 new junior members
attend. We have been asked to have a meeting on the weekend so that
more junior members can attend. We are considering this for the
December meeting and will post day and time in clubhouse breezeway
when we know. We are not having a November meeting due to scheduling
problems. Recreation has been throwing around several ideas such
as: planning some field trips to area events/places, reworking space
at playground for better utilization, adding wall in tennis area
for wall ball or tennis practice. If you have any suggestions or
ideas, let a recreation member know so that we can discuss it at
our next meeting.

Social
The social committee has had a much needed rest during the month
of October. We are now working on the holiday activities which are
as follows:
Boat regatta will be Nov 28th at the dock with wine, apple cider,
cheese and crackers and cookies. We need volunteers to help with
the cookies. Please sign the sheet if you can help.
We will decorate the Christmas tree in the clubhouse on Nov 29th
at 3:00. Please join and help us. Christmas dinner will be on Dec
12th at 5:00.
There are sign-up sheets on the bulletin board. In order to be
counted for the dinner you will have to pay ahead as this will be
catered and I don’t want to order food that we do not have
money ahead of time. Thanks for your help with this. We will have
lasagna, Italian bread, salad, and dessert. At each of these events
you may bring an unwrapped toy and or canned food to be donated.
Also for the dinner bring a $1.00 gift for the entertainment. If
you have any questions about any of these events please notify me
or someone on the social committee. Hope all of you have a good
safe holiday season. Pat Horne
