Volunteer of the Month!

Don't bug her when she's out in the truck spraying!
Judy Panarello is on a mission, as our first
line of defense, declaring a war on bugs. Thank you Judy
for your efforts to rid our neighborhood of those pesky insects
which leave us
itching and twitching! |
Board
It was decided at our September 15th meeting of the BOD to make
a motion to remove Rosanne Pazoga from the board and suspend her
until the vote of the membership is counted. There have been ongoing
differences between Rosanne and the rest of the members of the board,
Village volunteers and employees. We therefore, decided for the
good of the Village to remove Rosanne. We will be preparing a ballot
asking the members to support us in this decision to remove Roseanne.
Article 5-4 of the by-laws states: Any Director may be removed at
any time with or without cause by a majority vote of the members
of the Association. Action to remove a director may be initiated
by a majority of the Board of Directors or upon submission of a
petition by 25% of the qualified voting Members. A majority of those
voting is required for removal.
Also, there has been an ongoing argument with the owners of BOO,
Elizabeth Crotty and James Orzech, as to the way they access their
property. They continue to park in front of their house using the
mailbox driveway for access to their property. Every other home
in Windjammer Village must use the circle roads to access property.
This has resulted in ongoing legal bills. The contract of purchase
had stated the property must be accessed from Gamecock Circle. It
was stated in writing and the bid was reduced by $3000 due to the
fact they were going to have to install a long driveway. The current
Board of Directors feels it is too important to make the decision
on its own, and we will be sending it out to the membership for
a vote. Some thoughts that we are entertaining are:
1 Enforce the current contract.
2. Move the mail boxes down to become parallel with the road like
all other mailboxes in the community with ample room to park off
the road. Remove mailbox circle road and use property as another
garden/park. This would be a nice entrance to our Village. This
will keep the lot intact, eliminate anyone from driving on POA property
and could be sold in the future, if necessary. Members have voiced
their concerns regarding the parking on this property.
Fines:
2 - $300 fines for throwing a homemade bomb; 1 - $100 fine for underage
driving;
1 - $100 fine for still allowing a cat to roam free; 3 letters for
overgrown lots; and
1 letter for leaving a trailer on the property
Beautification
The contract for the front entrance maintenance was signed.

Compound
We will have re-registration for the compound On October
17th from 9 am to 12 noon at the compound. Please bring
copies of your information.
Everyone who has an item in the compound MUST fill out a new agreement
form. You Must submit a current registration for all boats, travel
trailers, campers and cars along with the agreement. If the lot
is not cleaned of vegetation and debris and your item isn't currently
registered, then your agreement will not be renewed and you will
have to remove your item from the compound. You may obtain the agreement
form from the office along with the rules and regulations regarding
the compound. If you have any questions, you may call Barbara Tanner.
Hospitality
Welcome to new renter Laurie VanRiper and her son, Vereen Circle,.
Maintenance
All reported maintenance concerns have been completed. If you have
any items for maintenance, please fill out a maintenance request
form – available at the office or online. The online pdf file
is form-fillable – you can type directly on the form and then
email it directly to the office. You have to print your own copy,
as you cannot save it unless you have a full version of Adobe Acrobat.
Recreation
The Recreation Committee would like to extend an invitation to the
teenagers of the community to join our committee. We are interested
in what the younger population would like, and need to hear your
voices. We meet once a month, and our next meeting is Wednesday
September 23rd. Call Lacy Paulussen if interested. We'd also like
to inform the Windjammer residents of some of the activities offered
for free right next door at Vereen Gardens. The CB Berry Community
Center has a AARP walking program every Wednesday at 10:30am and
offers Aerobic class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:00
pm. Both programs are a great way to get some exercise while meeting
people in the community!
Our Library’s New Look
If you have not been to visit our library recently, you need to
take time to check it out. There have been some nice changes made
for all to enjoy. You will find that the books are in a proper order
by author listing. We have over 400 movies (VHS) now in our library
which have been donated. There is also a table set up for those
who enjoy working on puzzles. Our thanks go to Cathy
Boone!
Security
Some items were reported missing from a boat at the Compound. A
golf cart was reported missing from Adams Circle – later recovered
from Vereen Gardens. A golf cart was found on the road to the pier
– it was stolen from Lafayette Circle. We have had to fine
some residents for putting large items in the dumpsters. Only household
garbage is to be put in the dumpsters. Video is in use.
Social
The Labor Day Social was held on September 6th. We had lots of people
with a good barbeque, good company and GREAT food provided by all
attending. If you missed this one you missed some good cooks showing
their talents. There was one clubhouse rental in August. We are
planning the yard sale on October 10th. There will be tables for
rent for $5.00 each. I will have a sign-up sheet on the bulletin
board and it will be first-come first -serve basis as there will
be a limited number of tables. We will also begin to plan the holiday
activities. Once again if you would like to join this committee
we will be missing some of the committee during the winter months
and we could always use your help. Pat Horne
